My 1983 98 project.

This is my 1983 98 Regency Brougham. Unfortunately it's been sitting for 10 years and has deteriorated a lot but it's complete. It has a 403 and 400 trans in it but as of now it won't start. Time and weather permitting I will try to work on it and keep you guys posted.

Yikes! Looks like someone when glad happy with blue paint in the engine compartment. I had 2 of those Regency Broughams. IMO the 307 underpowered the car so that 403 should make it move better when you're done. Double check your rear axle - a lot of the Regency Broughams also had a limited slip carrier. I see it also has the fibre optic light package.

My last 83 RB had 300K on it when I sold it and it was still going strong. The interior of yours should clean up really well with some good detailing, but will likely need a new paint job to really look stellar again.

Looks like someone smashed in your back window.

Looks good after sitting for so long.

Take your time and try to enjoy the whole process!

That will be an awsome car. I agree that the 403 will move that landyacht much better than the 307 ever could.

a nice solid car to start with definitely helps, with a 403 to boot.. pretty sweet! it needs some love, but i can see the potential there for sure.. if you went over the engine compartment with a little careful masking and the right colors, painted her and detailed the inside, what a beautiful car it would be. looks like mostly a time investment there, especially if you have some paint experience. i noticed the one piece possibly 90 caprice headlamps and the coke dealer steering wheel from back in the day. this is exactly what was popular with them back in 89 with some tru spoke wheels and the top done in cloth instead of vinyl- oh and big loud speakers on the package tray! well prob four 6 by nines in that one with the box in the trunk.. a trip down memory lane for sure, nice car! did you just pick it up recently, or have you had it long?

I never noticed that till you said something! Not something that came stock on an 83 or 84 Ninety Eight - even at the Brougham level. Wonder where they came from?

DjCrook73 I've had the car for about three years. Unfortunately due to my work schedule I haven't had time to do anything to it. HenryK8398 is right the headlights are out of a 1987 Caprice. Not four 6x9's just two with a amp and sub box. It's definitely a trip down memory lane. system 001.jpg

This has been on Ebay for a long time. I guess they're wondering why it won't sell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330849547515...84.m1423.l2649

im thinking if it was left alone instead of trying to turn it in to a rapper or football player's car, someone may just desire it as it supossedly is a true convertible conversion. the 90 caddy front end is just silly on that car- kinda like when the rice tuners put a bmw nose on a civic! the identity of the car is just gone. you may as well put a donkey's head on a turtle and call it classy

Would have required some mods though as the Classic would not be a direct bolt on transfer. It does look cool though. (1990) Has the 'Euro" look

Those 90 caprice headlights would technically work on your 76 correct? Would be an interesting look with the wider car.

i have a 78 delta that i was actually considering that for, but i have to get the parts and mock it up, then decide. it would probably bring a new flavor to any old gm car but i think the 76 looks right just as it is. if i were going away from stock, i probably would consider it as any mod with newer stock parts when done tastefully is cool for sure!

Haven't been on here in a while- looks like a good start, definitely post updates! I have an '83 myself that I've put a lot of work into. Unfortunately it got sideswiped last fall and I still need to buy doors for it.

Looks like a good solid project. Hope you can find the time to give it some love and get it back on the road this summer.

Many reasons why it won't start, probably the most likely is bad or crystallized gas in the lines, tank and carb from sitting. Have you tried squirting some starter fluid down the carb throat?
