How can I find vehicle description via VIN# ?
I just bought a 1964 Oldsmobile 98 with VIN # 884M043673 on the Title paperwork but the VIN # tag is not attached to the inside of the driver's door. Is it possible for me to decode the VIN above and determine the body type and the color of the car?

I'm not positive there exists a cowl tag (code plate) on a 1964 Oldsmobile. I suspect one does exist. The cowl tag is located on the driver's (LH) side below the windshield under the hood. It is riveted in place. This tag, w/ it's associated alpha-numeric characters demonstrates options on the vehicle when it was assembled from the factory, including paint color(s). Again, I'm not positive on a 1964 but rather certain the cowl tag exists in this location. Take a picture of the cowl tag and post it here. Members will able to decode the tag and provide useful information.
