Had a good life
Well the comfortron crapped out on us today lasted 47 years guess its had a good life big thanks to Bruce " bigoldscruiser" and MDchanic for even getting it working several years ago wife said its a convertible why do we need A/C but I'am so OCD I'll end up taking it apart lol !
Glad you got a few more years out of it anyway!
I am not experienced with these, so I'm afraid that the best I can recommend is to follow the diagnostic procedures in the CSM, and, since I believe that they require a special test tool at some point, have some junkyard parts around to swap in, for testing purposes.
Of course, troubleshooting the refrigeration part of the system should be straightforward.
If you have specific questions along the way, I may be able to figure out the answers.

Some day my car will be adorned with AC for this very reason....Tedd
1. Manufacturers offered it because some people would pay for it in spite of the fact that they could also put their top down, so it was a source of income.
2. Not everyone who buys a convertible wants to have the top down 24/7 (except when it's raining). Some just like to be able to put it down once in a while on a Sunday drive or something like that but keep it up much of the rest of the time.
2. Every once in a while, convertibles have to be driven with their tops up on warm, humid, rainy summer days. I know because I've done it. When it's 90 or 95 degrees but you can't put the top down, it can very quickly get hot and sticky inside the car, and then A/C is a godsend.
