I tracked down new outer sealing strips for my 4 door. I acquired a set of outside door handles that were in better shape than what I had. I had the door locks re keyed to match. I ordered new sound deadener for inside the door. I also ordered new "nails" to hold the door panel on.

I have a 3 year old daughter who insists on helping me. As you could imagine, a job that should take an hour, now takes 4. She wants to play with every tool I have out. So now I have to keep track of not only what I "lost", I have to keep one eye on what she's "helping me" with.

I did run into a bit of a problem. The RF door lock seems to be broken. You can lock it, but in order to unlock it, you have to physically manipulate the lock inside the door. It almost looks like something is bent or out of place. I went to take it out, but I need my impact driver and a big phillips attachment. Found the driver, no go on the phillips bit. I honestly don't know if my assistant helped me by moving it, or if I've never had one. It's been that kind of week.

But I'm making progress. And I guess that's good.

Yeah little ones can make the job longer but be thankful for the time.

 

Maybe give her something to do that occupies her and the idea that she is a big help. A rag, polish and a piece of chrome perhaps?

 

That's a good idea. Lately, she has been asking for tools to fix "her car", which, depending on the day, could either be the Little Tikes car or the Power Wheels "Frozen" Jeep. But if I give her a task, that'll work for more than 2 minutes.

I gave my 4 year old a roll of tape and showed her how to tape up a wheel, she had a ball and all my wheels were nicely taped to protect them until I needed them.
