Does anyone know if you can repair the clock in my 1983 Oldsmobile ninety eight regency brougham seems like the gears are stripping when you adjust it

 

You can probably put a quartz movement in it.

 

Is it the digital (rollover) clock or the analog clock (hands)?

Pretty sure the 1983 analog clock had a quartz movement. If not, one can be installed but doesn't leave much room for the lamp.

Digital clock is a whole different ball game.

There is a place that advertises that they do clock repairs in the OCA and or the TOA magazines.

 

You might also check if there is a watch or clock repair shop near you.

 

If you're lucky they won't laugh at you. In the clock world, even some watchmakers sneer at a mechanical clock.

OP has still not told us which clock he has. There's plenty of difference in the digital clock and the analog.
