Bolt in dual exhaust availability

1968 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight. Factory manifolds. Is there somewhere I can purchase a bolt in dual exhaust system. Walker has them available for I beleive it is 1973 but does not list for anything older. Just curious if anything is available or would I be stuck getting a shop building a custom system?

I believe Maremont still has one available - Auto Zone has access, but will probably be special order.
Don't know if they've a websight.

you can use any of the many kits designed for cars with headers by having a shop fab up a 45 degree & 90 degree downpipes for you.

then you unbolt your existing exhaust, bolt up the new downpipes to the manifolds, then mock up the rest of the kit.

I think magnaflow actually sells just the downpipe peices also, but i'm not positive of that.

Here's a couple of places that make original exhaust systems.

http://classicexhaustinc.com/

I used Classic for the duals on my Vista but it's only about a half hour away from me so I picked up the system there.
Have you inquired at local muffler shops?
When I was checking around for my car the guy at Monro Muffler here said they had the specs for the machine to make original type systems for just about anything American made going way back.

For a 68 you need a special S manifold. They are scarce but luckily they are repoed. Thornton sells em. This would be the drivers side manifold. For the right side the crossover port gets plugged. With the proper manifold you can get repro exhaust or have a shop install one. The auto shift linkage at trans sometimes needs to be modified so it does not hit the exhaust pipe there.

I also used Classic Exhaust. They made the wrong exhaust pipe on the passenger side and once I called them they made the correct one and sent it to me. I thought that situation showed me they stand behind their product. Their sysytem fit really good and was easy installing it.

Can you add dual exhaust to a 1966 Olds 98 with a 425? That would be an awesome addition to my car. I want to add photos of my car to the site but I don't know the process. Can anyone enlighten me? Also, I purchased some parts from Bigoldscruiser and he is a great guy. He was helpful and knowledgeable and a credit to the forum.

If you go to the right shop a custom bent system shouldnt be any more than a summit bolt in system for a 442 or Cutlass,Your large car might be a little more but worth it..........

Shop around and supply your own mufflers to save money(pick them up when theres a sale at Jegs or Summit) I got mine used from a memeber on another board and were a great deal...........Jerr

I had custom exhaust installed on my 71 98 for about $400 including two glasspack mufflers, an X pipe, and chrome tips. I'm sure you'll be happy with a system built by a local shop.
