84 Going back in time....Clock Issues

Hello,

I replaced a blown fuse on the new 84 I just bought that controlled the antenna, several interior lights and the clock.

All work now but the clock is running backwards (maybe trying to get to 1984?).

Any clues?

Thanks

So I removed the clock, plugged it back in and it started moving in correct direction...strange...

Sure that clock didn't come out of a DeLorean?

No explanation for why it might have run backwards. Is it one of those rolling dial digitals or does it have hands?

It's very nice 57J2Olds, congrats on the score. What are your plans for it? I have three and have photos in my profile here. Please keep us updated on the headliner issue. I will have to replace the headliner in my black Ninety Eight with the astro roof...afraid of what that's going to cost. I will also have to have the visors recovered on my fern gray Ninety Eight. The previous owner had the headliner replaced (Asheville NC) but did not have the visors recovered and they look pretty crappy next to the perfect headliner. The material could pass for OEM and the color match is perfect.

I actually have an appt to drop it off at an interior place by my house tomorrow. They quoted me only 160.00. Sounds too good to be true, so I'll let you know how it goes.

This car has never seen salt and I'm very leary of driving it this winter. I really need a pole barn, but cant afford it right now nor do I have the space.

Are there any cheap enclosure options for storing outside?

Here in Louisiana the aluminum carports have really become popular. Generally you can have a single car carport installed for well under $1,000. I'm not sure if all municipalities allow them. I'm considering buying an enclosed car hauler that I can park under a lean-to roof built on to my shed. Having that trailer will serve multiple purposes. I hope you're not having to leave your Ninety Eight out in the elements. Aside from the obvious heat and sun damage, the color will leach out of the tail light emblems from UV...those are almost impossible to replace. You may want to search the forums here regarding car covers if you don't already have one.

So I'm pretty upset. Got the car back from shop after they installed new headliner. I now have glue on my velour seats and some on the new headliner.

Steering wheel too but was able to wipe it off.

It's all over seat belts as I now have glue on my pants at work. It looks like they also damaged the velour in the back seat when they were removing the headliner...grrrrrrr

What should I use to remove it? I'm going back to shop to raise hell tomorrow.

That is devastating news. They should understand those seats cannot be replaced and they should have been covered. Read your owners manual, there is upholestry care instructions in there. Unfortunately I don't think it will help your case. By no means would I allow those fools to attempt to clean it. I would seek a professional and send them the bill.
