394 starter upgrade

Has anyone used a gear reduction starter from www.snap-usa.com? Looking at them or www.robbmcperformance.com one. As you would imagine, choices for the 394 are slim at best.
Thank you.

I think the aftermarket starters should work well. I'm not sure what the price would be. Why not rebuild yours?

I was thinking of moving up to a gear reduction one.

The denso style are powerful and reliable.

Stellar, I've seen that you have responded to a lot of questions about starters in this forum. Do you mind expanding on what you consider "denso"? Are you referring to the aftermarket gear reduction ones I've been looking at, or is it something else? I appreciate the responses.

I just clicked on the snap link you put up. The first set of pics are denso style. Price looks good too.

Keep the GM and rebuild it. These starters are almost bullet proof. My 2 cents.

My preference would be an original rebuilt also, but that is because that is what I like to do. Just the fact that the originals have been around so long and still work is saying a lot. The snap and other similar units are probably all manufactured by HI Torque IMI performance products. You may want to google that and deal directly with the manufacturer. The problem with aftermarket is getting replacement parts. A lot of the parts are available aftermarket if you know what to get, but the housing and drive may be available from the manufacturer only.
