If all the interior needs is fabric, SMS has it but as we all know, not inexpensive.

Front bumper is common to all full-size 1964 Oldsmobiles. Door glass should be the same on 63-64 Ninety Eight, Electra and Cadillac coupes.

Is this a Custom Sports Coupe? (Buckets/console/Starfire engine?)

64 Olds 98

Hey fellas, been off this board for awhile. Plugging away on this project. Slowly, but surely piecing together all the necessary parts. Found a donor car, up north. Attempting to get the entire interior. Front bench seat will need to be redone. Gonna give SMS a call to check on the fabric.
Motor seems to run ok. Wiring is a disaster, from animals chewing on it.
Because the new interior will be black vs light green, may stray away from the original light green exterior color. Thinking a metallic silver with black top. Would even consider a vinyl top. Actually saw one of these, with that top. Looked ok.
Will try and keep y'all posted on my progress. Trying to make it drivable, fro our club;s upcoming Groundhog Gala car Show.

Got fabric for my 69 98 from SMS. $80 per yard. Not cheap but absolutely perfect!

1964 Olds 98 resurection

About a year ago, my BFF Nads found this car left for dead, in a local tow yard. I have since gutted the rat/raccoon/tazmanian devil infested interior. Replace broken drivers window. Got the engine to run and given it a good once over. Very minor rust, on the San Jose body. Paint is toast!

Minor tune, oil change and a carb rebuild brought engine to life. Came with a garbage 2BBL Rochester carb and adapter plate. So glad I had an extra 4GC, on the shelf. Trouble is, transmission slips in D and no reverse.
Hoping that a oil and filter change may help it out. Although, a 50 yr old trans may need new seals. Fluid is bright red and full. Trans is the most likely the reason it got towed, in the first place. Oh well, after owning 5 of these '64 Rocket Sleds, won't be the first trans I rebuild.

If the trans has to come out, might as well take the whole engine assy and detail the motor compartment, as well as paint the car, before anything goes back on or in. Found a donor car up north, with a nice black interior. Awaiting new weather or not he can deliver to Floriduh. Wish me luck!

Jake, I hope you're able to get the transmission shifting properly with a filter change. Don't forget that you have to set the Throttle Valve on the side of the carburetor for the transmission to shift properly. BTW, that is an awsome car!

Thanks, I have a fair amount of experience, with Slim Jims and Hydro's. Yes, all those precision adjustments are crucial!! Glad I found all the old linkage, in the trunk. Some idiot had the 2BBl hooked up with house wiring.

This thing was/is a real P.O.S. But deserves to be saved!

My first Olds was a 1964 Olds 98 Luxury Sedan with a 394 and Slim Jim Rotohydramatic. It was a cool car. Unfortunately, the Slim Jim is a weak transmission. I hope your's is still good.
