1959/1964 Idiot Lights

Which lights are supposed to come on when you start the car?

We have Hot Cold Gen and Oil.

Just wondering since I think a bulb may be out or the sending unit bad.

The OIL light will come on when you crank the engine until oil pressure exceeds 4 psi. The COLD light will come on until the engine warms up. The GEN light will come on until the engine is turning the generator or alternator fast enough to generate 12.5 v or more. The HOT light will come on with the key in the START position as there is a "lamp test" contact in the ignition switch that provides a temporary ground path (well, at least there is for the 1964 model year).

Thanks, works as described. Needed to actually start car to see HOT light come on for an instant. The others come on when key moved to start position before crank. Then as car starts COLD stays on until warm.
