new to the board but far from a rookie

hello, im new to this board but have been on Oldspower since day 1 so i'm sure some of you will recognize the user name. im a member in the OCA and H/OCA. I current own an 83 Hurst Olds, an 85 Monte Carlo SS that getting a rocket 350 transplant this winter, and 84 Hurst thats a looooooong term project, a 70 gran sport Stage 1 and a Mercury Marauder for daily duties. I havent been as active in the Olds community over the past year. I've been fiddling a lot on the Marauder board since i got it march of 2014. I am getting back in because i'm swapping that olds motor into my monte.. I felt it was time for team olds to get one back after all the chevy swapped olds running around. plus its always a good time to watch the chevy guys explode. lol

Hope to get some helpful info. I'm looking to get 300-350 at the wheels out of my 350. I sense 300 is more likely what i will get. good news is its a 70 block, it has zero miles on the rebuild, its got forged pistons. the BAD news is the rebuild was done in 2004 and the car the motor is in has sat since, i dont know what the previous owner had planned so other than forged pistons i dont know what compression, what cam, etc, its got #8 head (blah) and again i dont know if they were cut or what was done. My engine guy is gonna open it up and see what we got to work with before i make any decisions like if i gotta get heads. So i'm open to suggestions at this point so take into account my goal and all the unknowns at this point and steer me in the right direction.
