Hello from Denmark, Scandinavia

Hi everybody

I am soon the owner of a '64 Olds 98 4 door HT. At this minute I have arranged whats needed with seller, and will pick it up in a couple of days.

It will be fun....

I will most likely need some taillights and some chrome trim. As fare as I have searched, nothing has been reproduced. Where would you recommend to look for these parts?? Private person taking these cars apart.. Specialised salvage/breaker buisness??

Ofcause "parts wanted" ;-)

Welcome to the site I think you'll find this a great place to hang out and get info on your car. Pics are always good, too.
Hopefully some of the other fellas will be able to help you out with your parts needs.

Nobody reproduces any parts for that car. You will have to get by with used. Your best bets are a parts wanted ad here, and ebay. Can't wait to see pics, love the '60's C bodies.

Welcome aboard. You're right these parts aren't reproduced. The taillights seem to be the elusive parts. For chrome trim there are several 1964 Olds Ninety Eight 4 dr HT's listed on (clik the blue link) http://www.dvap.com/our-inventory/ which still have some good looking trim. These cars are stored outdoors but it's in dry desert area.

Here it is...

The day after I brought it home. .....

Not perfect, but definently a nice rotfree car with patina... And a cery nice interior.
As you can see I need 2 pcs of trim, 2 taillights over time... To make it more intact/original.

This pictures is from from the sellers add, but is the actual car.

It may come as a surprise to some of you, but this is the rear end of the car, where the left fin trim is a little damaged right above the taillight... Not much, but still.

You can insert up to 5 pictures per post on this site. Saves a bit of time. The car looks really good. What happened to the tail lights and trim?

I was uable to upload more than one at the time :-( .. everytime I chose picture number 2, the first was deleted.

The hood edge trim has been split in two pieces, the rear left fin trim, has been slit open at the end, just over the taillight, not bad, and I even think I can make it acceptable my self, and the tail light has been modified, to have orange indicator instead of the cat eye in the middle.

And yes.. the car is very good. No rust as such, only some spots, not bad at all, only the paint has been damage, and a little surfacerust.
