Hello from Washington State

Hello,

My name is Scott and I live in Battleground, Wa. and work as a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. Retired from the Navy Submarine Force after 24 years in 2004. First car was 1964 Pontiac Lemans with a 455 Oldsmobile from a 68 Delta 88. A few years ago I thought it would be nice to get back into cars again and after a couple of false starts I think I'm on the right track now.

Just bought a 1969 Cutlass Holiday Coupe. 350ci V-8, 3 speed automatic, power steering and power disc brakes. Body has some dents and dings and looks like what at one time was an Earl Scheib's $49.95 paint job. Some minor rust on the lower front quarter panels, but the floor and trunk pans are in great shape. Only drove it about 20 miles home but it runs like a top.

Looking forward to all your help in making my Cutlass something to be proud of.

Scott

Hi Scott!
Welcome to the best Olds site there is, and thank you so very much for your service...under the ocean! I did mine on the ocean and I can't even imagine what it would be like to spend so much time underwater!
You will like this site. There is so much expertise here and, if you have questions, you will certainly receive prompt, competent answers right here! I restored my '68 and this site was invaluable in answering questions I had, and still do have from time-to-time.
Enjoy your car and enjoy your retirement. I never thought about retirement until the time finally came, and it is pretty good!
Best Regards,
Randy C.

Hi Scott, kind of a belated welcome on my part. I'm in Woodland, WA about a half-hour north on I-5. I'm probably not much help re. your 69 Cutlass since my Olds experience is all with older Oldsmobiles --currently a 47 Convertible with a '68 455. Its still very much a project. This is a great site with lots of helpful people. I too would like to thank you for your service to our Country and wish you success with the Cutlass.
Jerry
