New Guy.
Hi everyone, just thought I would sign on. I hope to pickup my 1961 Holiday 98 coupe this week. Look forward to being part of Olds family.
I'll upload pics when I get a chance.

The '61 Ninety Eight 2-door hardtop is a model we almost never see, so I'll be particularly eager to see your photos.
I love the car's unique roofline, which was a one-year only style and shared only with Buick Electra and Cadillac.

Thanks everyone. Can't wait to get it home. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. Any information that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I searched google and have some.
Also the car originally came from California, is there a way to look up previous ownership/history?

Gawjus. For cars that people didn't really take to when they were introduced, the 1961 GM cars have certainly come into their own.
I came real close to buying a nice 61 D88 Holiday Sedan last year but it was at an estate auction and auction fever kicked in on a couple people, and the car went for half again what it should have. A 20-something guy bought it, and that poor car showed up for sale again from a different owner in a different part of the state less than eight months later.
Somehow I knew that kid wasn't going to be able to deal with the idiosyncrasies of an early 60s Oldsmobile. His little brother was familiar with 64-68 Mustangs so at least one of them knew something about cars, but a Rocket-era Oldsmobile is a different beast than a Mustang.
In hindsight, I guess I should have bought the car and rescued it. Just couldn't see paying that much for it at the time.

Nostalgia?
Welcome to the board, Holiday 98!
I know most folks who have posted here remember times when nobody would have lifted an eyebrow over a '61 Olds Holiday; but now, wow! I agree; their time has come. I was a young-un in '61, but my Uncle Joe had a 4-dr white 88 that we all loved. When we wuz kids, that linear colored speedo could keep us occupied the whole time we were in the car (without seatbelts, btw).
And I hate to so publicly state my ignorance, but I can't recall actually seeing that body in a H.T. coupe before.... especially since all the SFs that year were convertibles. Crazy for those rare rockets.
Raider, how many of those were made? Is this a Canadian model, or "regular" stateside offering?

John, note Centurion's comment on the roofline. The angled C-post was exclusive to the GM C-body in 1961- Ninety Eight, Electra and Cadillac deVille.
4445 1961 Ninety Eight Holiday Coupes produced per Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile.
Interestingly, the Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 does not show a picture of either a 1961 Cadillac, Buick or Oldsmobile two-door C-body hardtop.

The car brought a lot of attention on our Cruise Night here in Red Deer this past Wednesday (350 cars were out). Most people had never seen one before.
We had it out for a couple hours last night, got more than our share of thumbs up.

We moved here in November '61, one of the families on a main street had a 1961 Ninety Eight 6 window, don't recall if it were the Holiday or Celebrity Sedan. It was baby blue with blue interior. Mom and I got a ride home from church, and she couldn't find the door handle to get out. I think at the time it was the newest car we'd ever been in! Ever since then I've loved the look of those cars. I saw a flawless metallic turquoise '61 flattop Ninety Eight Holiday 4dr at the turnpike one day, I hope it was in the hands of a collector. My late friend Andy was an Olds nut, he loved the '61s thru the '64s the most, and had a non running Dynamic 88 bubbletop, and a couple of tatty looking '62 Starfires, just to mention three. I love your new Classic Ninety Eight!
