Hello all
My name is Bill and I am new here. I am really looking forward to participating and exchanging information.
My car is a 1950 Olds Convertible, white with blue pearl and blue leather interior. Powered by a modified Rocket 303ci engine. It is a replica of the one I had in high school when my wife and I dated, 55 years ago. We have been enjoying the car since I completed it in 1996. We have toured the western US in it since then and accumulated over 44,000 miles.

Welcome aboard.
Bill I think I met you and your wife at the Grants Pass show this last weekend. That is one very nice Olds, looks even better in person.I was the rather large old fart with a Old's Nationals straw hat, I was with my wife and a 55 Old's convertible. Glad you droped in......Lost in the fifties...Tedd
Ps 64 rocket early 50 Olds had split front windshields just like 49's if that is what you are looking at...

Tedd, Nope, look at the first pic & second pic, no fender mldg and the different rocker mldg. 3rd pic fender mldgs and smaller rocker mldgs. The 49's had diff style rock guards for the rear 1/4 fenders.
Also if you look at the bottom of the pic's it tells you.

You are correct but he also said that this car was a clone of his first car he had in in 56, lets not nit pick this gentleman's introduction. This car on a scale of it is a 10, I personally drooled on it at Grants Pass and it is a knock down gorgeous car....Tedd

Thanks to all of the very nice comments. Ted, yes I do remember you and your wife. I did get a chance to go look at your car and you sure can be very proud of it, very pretty. By the way our Olds was selected the 'Most Gorgeous GM' at the show, quite an honor.
Yes Gentlemen, my first Olds was a '49. I tried to find it when we decided to do a car in 1990 and all the license plate info (GVY-141) died in California's records. It probably made about 5 Toyotas. I could not find a ’49 so we did a ’50. Convertibles were very hard to find.
I hope that clears up any confusion.

Tom,
WOW!! what a beautiful group of '50's. I'm sure they all are a lot of fun to own. I have always liked the Holiday Hard Top. One would be in my collection if I had my way. Oh Well' she enjoys the convertible.

Thought I would show some pics of the engine we did in the ’50 convertible. I decided to stay with the 303ci ROCKET and do some special things to it. I was lucky to have had a gentleman that was a mechanic on the 303’s when they raced in the early NASCAR days in Daytona. He remembered some of the trick things they did to the engine and what goodies they used. His son was the engine builder and all of us worked on it together, what an honor to have been able to do that. I think he had fun doing it also. We used the same Engle cam, Offenhouser induction, and headers. We decided to modify the valve system and incorporate a set of roller rockers built for me by a local rocker arm specialist. A modified electronic ignition system by Mallory, and the use of Edelbrock’s 4 barrel carburetors. The biggest radiator we could get in it, Flowmaster exhaust, and a Turbo 350 transmission really made this old girl wake up. I have been very surprised how reliable it has been over the years and 45000 miles. The only failure has been a cracked distributer cap. It has been a whole lot of fun.
