Smile i'm new here, but "old" to olds

hi! my olds experience (and that of my family) is 40 something olds 2 door coupe (i was a kid then), 56 rocket 88, 60 olds 98, 64 olds 98, 66 olds 88 , and 96 olds cutlass supreme. so we've had a few. worked on the 64 and the 66 the most. the 98's were great cars for running up and down I-95 from Mass. to FLA in the old days in the army...

Welcome bigred. Thank you for your service from a current Soldier. I noticed you had a 56 rocket 88, it's my first and current Classic.

our 56 was brand new when my folks got it. it's the car i learned to drive with. a real bear, with no power steering! had one of the suicide *****, to help with turning the thing....two door, so had to climb into the back seat; not real graceful or modest with a dress on! i loved the jet on the hood....and i still love chrome! the color was called beige and bronze...

Sounds like you had a lot of memories in that car. It's definitely a work out to drive, but something about the feeling you get when you're riding around in it makes it all worth it. Plus all the looks you get even in it's unfinished condition. I have been to quite a few car shows lately, not with my car, and haven't seen an Olds at any of them. It seems to me that they are becoming more and more rare while there are an over abundance of the various Chevy's. I plan on keeping mine something similar to the Original two-toned green that it is now.
