I need a replacement for my 87 307 what can I appply without a bunch of mods

Olds Rocket 350 is easiest, then Olds 455, then any Buick or Pontiac 350 or 455.

If you are replacing the engine I would not put a 307 back in it. 350 is a good choice or 403. Both with fit. All accessories will work with either.

Everybody take a deep breath.

You're in SoCal, so your 87 must be emissions tested. If you do swap to an Olds 350 or 403, you will need to at least have the APPEARANCE that all emissions from the 307 equipment is in place.

Good spot, Joe. I forget how good I have it here in Florida, with no emissions testing.

Yep fix or replace the 307 so nice to be in this state smog exempt law has not been changed for many years, 75 and older means many nice cars folks in non smog states can mod and rod.

How bad is the engine ? There are many shops in the socal area that do engine rebuilds.
