Hello from a newly ordained Oldsmobile owner
Hey all,
I have been "lurking" on here for a while, and decided to sign up. In the past I have owned Chevy Nova's ('73 and '74)...and have never owned an olds. I acquired a 1972 Cutlass Supreme (Rocket 350) after my father's passing (it was his), and I am now in the process of restoring it. The motor blew up on it last Easter, and I have since had it machined, balanced and rebuilt. Had a 270D/501L CompCam and put in, and getting ready to go through the break in procedures. Crank was toast and the back 2 pistons were eaten up. Finally got it finished. Anyway, just wanted to send greetings and thank you guys for the lead on Fusick's. I think that will be very useful in the future. I also may have a question for you seasoned Olds owners once in a while. As a matter of fact, I have one now...the center console hinge and lid has broken loose from the box, and it's clear that I can't rebolt the hinge in due to the inner part of the box being broken. Have any of you ever fixed one of these, and how did you do it? Anyway, Cheers to you guys, you have a greaat site going here, and I will post a few pics of Pop's car when I get some good ones and I figure out how. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide!

Welcome to CO. I have seen a console damaged in that manner before but don't know how to repair it. You might re-post that question with a title relevant to that subject in the interior forum, you may get some help that way as some of our members don't frequent the newbie forum.
