Newbie onboard

I bought my 1970 olds 442 convertible in 1984 for $2500.00 motor had a bearing melt down, 1985 had motor rebuilt with w30 cam around 1986 I put a new top on, I've put around eight thousand miles on it since rebuild around 1995 I replaced front end bushings, shocks and springs.
The first thing I did when I bought the car was rip out the seat belts (Why I will never know) in 2000 my kids were getting to the age where they wanted to ride in the car, since there were no seat belts this was not an option so I barely drove it until 2004 I put the car in storage at a buddies barn where it sat until 2010 when my then 18 year old son wanted to learn how to drive a stick so we went over started it up and drove it home.
Well six years of sitting in a barn did a little damage though suprisingly not too much, wheels got rusty from a critter marking his territory over the years. In July of 2010 my two boy's (15yrs & 18yrs) started taking it apart for frame off restoration, it is currently completely stripped down, have doors, fenders, hood, deck lid all primered and ready for paint, floor panels are in and ready to be welded.
The pictures attached are one when I first purchased car with no motor in it. the other is my first parade after motor rebuild, the day I brought it home, body, frame. I look forward to discussing things with all of you in the future, in fact I will be posting a question I have about rear springs after I finish this message.

Welcome aboard! Glad to hear your sons are interested in the Oldsmobile, I guess with it being a 442 convert with a 3 or 4 speed stick has got to have some slight influence. If you need any advice just give us a shout, someone will "hear" you. Cheers

Welcome to CO

Looks like a good father & son's project. At that age its great to be able to share an interest. Soon you'll have to find another car as you have two sons. I had three and it was quite a challenge to build 3-cars. Good luck with your build
