Red face new to club

Hi To All; I hope I'm doing this right. I'm Jim and my wife Kelly. We recently purchased a 1970 Olds cutlass supreme convertible from Flint Mi. Was built in Lansing. It's kinda an oddball. It was painted flame orange but the original color is burgandy. It has all the original parts and drivetrain, and the stainless is like new. It has the 350 2bl. Rocket engine linked to a 3 speed.....on the column. Can't seem to find any others like it. We are doing a frame up resto.. This will be are third. Our first was a 70 cutlass supreme ht.. Then a 67 chevelle malibu ht. (modified). Has done great at all the shows. But still not as fun as cruising in a Olds.. We've had a few other drivers over the years. But we seem to come back to Olds.. I thank you all..God Bless.

Welcome to the flock. That will be a lot of fun with the top down. Yea, I'd say the 3spd is a little odd....I mean that its still there! Surprised someone did'nt change it out.

Wow, a rust belt survivor. Most of us remember in the 60's when 3 on the tree's were common fare and then by 1970 most were automatics. Even at the car shows up here in Wisconsin they're rarley seen. Expecially Oldsmobiles. Nice catch!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!! I just remembered that when I started dating my lovely wife (back in the 70's). I was driving a 72 Olds Delta 88 Royal. It was black with a black vinlyl top, and had those soft honeycomb type wheel rims . But here is the kicker.... it had a green cloth interior!!!! And this was all factory ordered because I found the line sheet in the right door panal. I guess I'm lucky these odd cars found me!!! And here is another...I also had a 72 Skylark Suncoupe odd?

Welcome, are you currently in Michigan, or is that just where you bought the car?

Thanks Jamesbo for the info.. Will be uesful in the near future when we get some good pictures of the resto going on. Also I see you post that you had a 69 H/O that burn't. What happened?? And to 1969w3155 we live in Canfield Ohio. Which a wonderful historic village and township approx. 12 miles so.-west of Youngstown. We have a great county fairgrounds which the largest in Ohio next to the state's,in Columbus. I had to tell you's this because we have the largest swapmeets 3 times a year. And our fair, of course,on Labor Day week. And FYI the HotRod Nats. ,was held here for about 8 years before going back to Indy..We live in old car heaven here. Car shows everynight ,weather permitting. But our tie to MI.,is that I have a ill brother in Livonia. He was in a home in Grand Blanc for 2 years or so. Till my wonderful sister inlaw got him closer to home, for her and us.Before he got sick, he and I always talked old cars ... He loved the GTO's we both had!!! I had him find our 67' malibu in Farmington. We both love all GM's "A" Bodies!!! And now to cutlassgal. have you been to any of POP'S shows ???? Hartville ,Talmage, We may have met! To snowballs442 is that an American Eskimo dog you have??? My father inlaw has one like it. Thanks again to all for such a warm welcome!!! Love and God Bless.
