350/455

No, that is not possible. 350 or 455 were the options. Most Supremes are 350 cars. Though I think the SX was pretty much a Supreme with a 455?

The 1970 VIN will not tell you anything about the engine displacement. Red_Hill is correct - in 1970, the options were a 350 or a 455 in SXes and a small number of other Supremes.

Sleepers

Terry, Nice sleepers you run! Love the 455 Supremes with manuals. Which Olds is your personal favorite to drive?

When we were first married, we bought my wife an 86 Buick Regal T-Type, light blue. I ambushed more 60s and 70s Chevelles and same era Camaro and Firebirds! Then there was the Easter morning light to light run with a 911 Turbo...

400's were pre 1970, so that leaves the I6 in the F85, with the 350 (most common) and the 455 as mentioned in the SX, and a few other Supremes plus the 442. The std. engine in a Supreme was the 350 4bbl. Doesn't matter if floor or column shift.

Thanks! I've had the 442 for 11 years and it's totally reliable - that would be the last one I'd part with. The SX is a great highway car - really smooth, and the V Code Supreme is a hot-cammed beast. It's my least reliable by far due to prior performance mods that I'm slowly removing/re-doing over time. It's still fun when it decides to run. The second V Code Supreme sits in storage after sitting outside in NH for a decade. It needs a little work....

I believe a buyer could also opt for a 2bbl. carb for some credit.

You may want to run your VIN through this site and see what it says

I think calling it a "standard 350 with the 2bbl." is a misnomer because the 4 bbl. was standard. Anyone?
