Manual on removing sections of the steering column

Hello...I am having problems with my ignition not working. I can turn the key and nothing happens. It seems that there is a problem in the section where the key cylinder is located. I can see the rod that runs to the ignition switch but there is another mechanism that is not connecting when I turn the key to start my car. Thank you so much. Jimmy

The manual you need is a factory Chassis Service Manual for your year. You can find used originals on ebay.

I would strongly suggest you follow Joe P.s advice and get a FSM.

The sterring column has a lot of parts, and there is a specific sequence to disassemble/assemble it.

check ebay for a hard copy of the manual or join the Olds Perf. Club which is scanning the manuals and you can download them free:
