well i know this block is different than many of the gm 350s, so i need some help building it up. i plan on putting it in my 84 Pontiac fiero. when i do finish building it.

 

Right you are, the Oldsmobile V8 is different. We will help you all we can. Welcome to CO. Isn't the '84 Fiero originally a front wheel drive car? That will be a tough job trying to shoe-horn the SBO into that thing.

 

I have a SBO 350 also, and my Stepdad has a 85 Fiero, like Oldsguy said " good luck trying to shoehorn that thing"

 

think the engine is in the trunk think vw bug on steroids. They sell conversion kits for chevy engines to fit in there so why not a nice rocket to power it down the road.

 

Back in the dark ages (about the time joe_p was here) there were several 455 Olds powered Fieros in the area. They used a kit, based on the Toronado drivetrain. Just substitute your 350 for the 455.

yeah, but I would consider myself new to the whole mechanical aspect, i want to learn. I put a help request in the small block forum but the only post was a guy telling me to do what a lot of other fiero owners have done which is the 3800sc, and it was no help at all. i don't really care how long it take to do this build. it will probably be an ongoing project throughout my college years. now what all will i need to get before i can really start the build. all i have right now is the block pistons with connecting rods and a timing chain, im planning on buying an engine stand later this week. what other tools are recomended
