Welcome to the site! Typically one would introduce themself in the newbie forum and share details on their car. Then create a parts wanted post in the forum for parts.

Also please post your location or nearest big city with the state/province you live in. If your needing large/heavy parts finding someone close by who has the parts could save you money. There are a lot of members here with spare parts and knowledge of sources if you need reproduction or new parts. John

1969 Oldsmobile 98 convertible

Ok, thanks for the advice. I’m the owner of a 1969 Oldsmobile 98 convertible. I’ve been the owner of this car for the last 10 years. I have never correctly fully restored the car, just simply taken it to different mechanical shops to have work performed on it as needed.
I live in Chicago and at the moment I’m trying to replace my front end suspension. I’m having trouble finding upper and lower control arms for this beauty. There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done besides the front end suspension, so I’m reaching out to find a source for hard to find parts. I attend certain car shows every year and I was told about this website by one of the participants at one of these shows. If someone can help me out, out there, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you need to replace the control arms that will require used parts from one of the members here. I've got some from a 1970 Olds 98 but would have to check to make sure they interchange. We have a member here from New York who has a collection of hard to find NOS parts, he goes by mpolds and his name is Craig. He can help with things like brake shoes, steering joints, ball joints, stuff that auto parts stores may no longer stock. Unfortunately there's not a lot out there for the late 1960's full sized Oldsmobile. Joe_padavano has a 1967 that he's spent a lot of time working out front disc brakes for. Here's a link to that thread: Replacement rotors for 69-70 full size cars - ClassicOldsmobile.com

Such nice cars to drive but we do need to put a little more effort into locating parts to keep them on the road. John

Google west south and south west auto salvage yards.

Ebay is another spot.

Couple of guys deal in NOS and used parts here.
Heres how to get to the classifieds here.---> fourms > classifieds > Oldsmobile parts > parts wanted

I checked the numbers and the 1970 control arms will interchange with 1969. What I have would be used, I have never looked for a new set of these so I can't say for sure they may not be available. If one of the other members here know they can chime in and share a source. But if you decide to go with used I'm in Oregon which will be expensive to ship. But I'm in a part of the country where we don't salt the roads, so the metal is good. Let me know if you'd like to see pictures of what I have. John
