Me and my 73

Hi there. I've been reading this forum for a while and finally decided to join now that I've got my 1973 442 in the pole barn. It's a four-speed, 455 and it's white with a maroon stripe. I really like it it runs well but there's body issues I've got to take care of. Hope to have her all done by the end of April . Going to see AC/DC. I think it's apropos that I roll up to the concert in a 1973 to watch a band that started and 1973. Looking forward to talking to you all.

Welcome to the site. Does your 442 have A/C?

Welcome from a fellow (past) V code owner, mine was a ‘72. Drove it down PA route 3 to the tower theater in upper darby to catch AC/DC open up for UFO in 1979. RIP Bon.

Nice, cool, rare, and quick car. Welcome aboard Gretsch442, and please post pics asap !

Is she a U code or V ? Your model is one of the lucky ones that has a Hemmings writeup. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/rei...tlass-supreme/

Welcome! I just purchased a 1973 442 with a 455 also but not the rare 4-speed.

If you want people to focus on the black car, you need to do THIS!

oh, I agree that the Toro is THE eyecatcher, by miles, and rightfully so!!!
I'm not the greatest at editing pics etc., so I just posted the first one I found with the Salon in it..
I keep saying I'll have to get a pic file together specific for the Salon, but hey..we all know the Colonnades aren't the most popular..
We all enjoy our cars, and maybe I'll put together a 'baby book' one of these days for shows..

Your '73 is a beautiful car in its own right!

I especially like the color-matched wheelcovers.

One last comment about the Toronado in your photo. Not only is it a beautiful car in its own right, but it happens to be "autumn bronze" (Oldsmobile name) in color, which is probably the most sought-after color on those cars.

..74..lol (the 'red-haired stepchild' of the 73-77 'red-haired stepchildren')

Yes, the Salons came with color-matching, Salon-only covers (unless rally wheels were ordered)

The Toro has been to several OCA Nats..unfortunately, she won't make Bowling Green this year..
It always draws attention, even among other Toros!
