Just purchased a 70 Cutlass. 442 cloned (mostly), 455/stock. Joined up because I have a LOT of new info to learn. Been turning wrenches professionally for 20 years but don't know **** ab a carb other than how to tear them down and rebuild them. Tuning them is Chinese calculus to me.
Welcome to the site!
The carbs aren't as complicated as people make them out to be. Get the correct literature and you'll be golden. And you can always ask here for help.
Right now it's a brand new shitty and underperforming Edelbrick 500cfm that the previous owner put on there because "It's all they had in the store and i wanted to drive it"... I've got a buddy at work bringing me 3 Holley 750s that his old boss was trying to get out of his shop. He's also got a Sniper kit he said he'd let me have for a few hundred bucks. Went with yhe Sniper2 and doesnt need it anymore. That'll be installed down the road when I get a parts list up of everything it doesn't have.
Very cool.
The blacked out look is one of my favorites…but you’ll have to put up with people asking if it’s a Nova thanks to Street Outlaws.
🙄
Yeah, it's just black primer, but I'll fix the few dings it has, prep it, and go back with the Matte black and clear coats. Always wanted a blacked out classic.
