Newbie Oldsmobile lover

Hey everybody im new to this site. And am the proud owner of a 1965 olds 442 that i recently bought. Im kind of new to the oldsmobile scene, and i am hoping to learn allot from you guys. First off i kinda have a dumb question. Was the 1965 400 engine in the 442 a big block or small block? Everywhere i search for this answer i keep finding things that tell me it is a big block, or a small block. I just keep getting confused with it. I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out.

Congrats on the new car. Post some pictures when you get the time. The 400 engine is a big block and the 403 engine is a small block(Im guessing this is what is confusing you it confuses alot of people new to Olds).

Glad to have you with us. So from your username it looks like you may have already owned a Delta, correct?

Welcome to the site! There are a couple more sites that have lots of information specific to the 1965 442. But there's a lot of 1965 442 owners on this site too, so continue to participate here but use all three to find the information you need. Congrats on the new addition, you can't have too many toys John
