Actually, I was a member several years ago before I moved from North Carolina and also changed internet providers.

Other stuff that has changed is that my '47 76 sedan was sold which made the boss mad, so I bought a '48 66 coupe. Being from Arizona, it has a decent body and really good chrome, but the desert heat has wreaked havoc with all the rubber components and the aging lacquer paint job (checkering and peeling) .

The front suspension seems tight but is really caked up with 72 years worth of grease/dirt. I cleaned the left spindle, re-greased it and it looks good. Elbow grease and a pressure washer can cure a lot.

The motor runs but has a really bad miss, likely a head gasket. The transmission is a 3-speed manual with the odd BOP column shift linkage, and the rear end is at least a 4.10:1, maybe even lower . Right now I'm looking for a small block Olds motor, a 330 or350 and an automatic o.d.transmission to replace the original stuff.

I want to keep the exterior and interior stock, altohough I'm not a fan of the Oldsmobile script across the hood and the small, fender mounted tail lights.
