Red face one lucky girl...

Hi,
First, I want to say that this is the best car site I've ever seen and am glad to have a reason to join. Here's my story...I grew up in a family that collects cars. Decided to get a 1949 Chevy PU about 10 yrs ago without their help, to prove somethin' to somebody. Still have her and love her dearly. But recently i needed a new car...I debated about a hybrid, etc...Well I was offered a chance to buy a Cutlass from a family friend. The deal was too good, to pass up...Oh, it was'nt free, I'll be paying for it for the next 3 years but I would have with a new car anyway...So I am now a proud owner of a 1972 Cutlass Supreme 455...matching numbers...81,000 original miles...new vinyl top, new interior, newish paint 'Nutmeg', every accessory for that year...even the outside tempature gauge...She's practically perfect, a class 2, I was told...some oil leaks in the usual spots...some water leaks in the rear window...needs a new seat belt...Shes completely stock and I'm going to keep her that way.

I have to be honest, the Cutlass Supreme was not even on my wish list but now I'm in love...and can't believe my luck...

I'll post pix as soon as I get to

Cheers & Thanks for being an awesome group of insanely informative folks

the really cool thing about your decision is that in 10 years your cutlass will be worth what you paid or more, the hybrid would be lucky to even run in 10 years.

X-infinity I do think the 72 will be worth much more by then though...

The 72 Cutlass will be turning heads also. And with a 455, you can have some serious fun with her! Stock is way cool - just fix the little things and she will keep you happy for years to come.
Welcome to the site - You will enjoy it here.

Welcome to the site. Please look into that water leak soon or you may end up with some serious rust issues in places that are hard to fix. Don't ask me how I know. Other than that it sounds like a heck of a nice ride. Again welcome and enjoy your stay. Post pics when you can.

in my world, Hybrid is when you take a 4 wheeler chassis and put a motorcycle engine in it. like a 400EX and put a CRF450 engine in it.

Welcome to CO. I would recommend that you investigate that water leak at the back glass as it can become a real problem to corrosion in the trunk area.
