Newbie from DE

Hello all! I have been reading a lot of great information on here and decided to finally sign up. My dad and I are currently restoring a 68 442. It has a long ways to go, but when it is done it will be done right. We took the front body panels off, removed the suspension and brakes. We are currently troubleshooting the 455 engine now (bluish gas fumes). It was rebuilt before and we are trying to see if we can save it or go a different route. This weekend we plan on firing it up again and letting run to see if it just needs to burn off. So I will definitely be asking for help during this build and to possibly make connections for advice, parts, and a possible engine. Lol. Thank you for everything in advance.

Welcome, and congratulations on your project. 1968s are beautiful cars.

We'll help whenever you ask.

Enjoy and ask questions if you run into roadblocks. Lots of expertise here on a wide range of Oldsmobiles and lots of great advice from people helped me get both of my cars the way I wanted them to be.

Yes welcome aboard, 68s are muched loved here on CO. I spent the late 70s and early 80s running my big block ‘72 4 speed 4-4-2 on the streets of northern Delaware. Had a buddy in Newark with a convertible 71 W-30, and we rolled Main Street and 896 every weekend from 1980 to 1984
