I have a 1985 Cutlass Supreme with the v6.

My car is missing the piece that goes on the top of the valve cover and the oil filer cap fits on top of it.

I have tried to find one but my 'search terms' always find nothing similar.

Anyone know where I can buy one? or even what his is called?

It sounds like he is looking for the rubber grommet the oil fill plug slides into.

That looks like it. My friend has one on his Grand National.

 

That ebay link is what I think it should look like but ebay says this is not correct for a cutlass supreme.

Is there a different between the buick 3.8 and the olds 3.8 engine?

Olds used the Buick V6. FYI, do not assume the fitment info in ebay ads is correct. It usually is not.
