Newbie From California

Hi Everyone. I love this site and look at it everyday. I have only posted once before. I found a thread on fixing circuit boards and worked for my car. I wanted to let others know. This is my 1966 Cutlass holiday. I bought it last June and it needed a lot (the entire car was spray painted, rust in the back window, transmission slipped, interior was trashed etc etc) but ran good. Bucket seats, console, 330 ultra high compression. New paint, interior, transmission, all chrome, stainless, emblems either replaced or rechromed. Only thing that is not stock is the wheels and exhaust. I have always loved oldsmobile and was thrilled to bring this one back to life. In 1993 I had a 1966 cutlass holiday but gave it to my brother when I went in the marines. He didnt do so well with it. So I finally replaced it! I do a lot of the work myself and have an automotive background and career. The last 2 pics are from when I bought it in June. I wish everyone happiness and good health in these trying times. Ian

Thankyou! They are U.S. Mags bandits. They have a real flair of the olds SS1 wheels and that's why I picked them.

My favorite body style of all the years is 1966! I like the '66 model year even better than the '67 because of the headlights being next to each other, and the taillights. My dad had a '66 F85 deluxe with your same engine when I first got my driver license and it was a great date car! Looks like you did some mighty fine work for it as well. Enjoy and thanks for your service!

What Randy said! Had a red with white roof 66 f85 coupe back in 69 to 71. Traded it on a new Vega 😭😭.

Very nice car, looking great!
I bought a new Vega in 71 also.
Have had a few since then. The last one was 71 Vega GT. blown motor, out with it and in with 215 Olds aluminum V8. No barn burner, but was a kick to drive.

Anyway I also like the 66 more than the 67's, but each to his own.
I'm into the 64's mostly, but 68's have a spot in me.
What part of Calif are you from?
Gene

Hi Gene,
I live in northern California in Sonoma county....
a town called Windsor. I agree I like them all from 64 to 73 actually. 66 and 72 have the soft spots for me because I owned them. But really I could own any of them.
