1970 olds 442 w-30 lights flikering..

1970 olds 442-w30 lights are flikering at any rpm...i suspect voltage regulator.... Any thought's???

Check and clean the terminals at the threaded junction post on the horn relay. I've had this problem before and cleaning those terminals helped a lot.

Well I can't find the voltage regulator....Is this one of those located in the alternator??

If the alternator plug terminals are "l l" then its externally regulated. If it has "- -" terminals then its internally regulated.

All 1970 442s came with internally regulated alternators.

Problem solved.. It was the alternator... Put a new one in and working like a CHAMP!!!

Is the new one open face like the factory original?, or just a generic rebuild.

generic build... DURALAST...lifetime warranty... could not find a AC/DELCO here locally...

Because when people are looking for/at W cars, they like them to have all the original parts. All parts removed from your car are valuable.
