HELLO! - New Member

Hello everyone,

Just my first post since joining up. I should have done this a long time ago =)

I have been an Olds freak for a long time and have been going to car shows all my life- My father has a 64 Corvette

My first car which I still have is a 91 Cutlass Ciera SL, and I love that car.

Its what really got me into Olds and developed my love and passion for them.

I really like all years and body styles, but am particularly attracted to the 50's and especially the Rocket 88s, which prompted me to by a 53' Rocket(Lucille) about 5 years ago

Since then I have been doing as much as I can and can afford to restore and fix her up

pretty much stock, except for the powertrain which is a 78-79 olds 350 and a turbo 350 trans. the motor had been slightly beefed up but nothing radical. Extremely reliable

She needs some work- virtually a full restoration-but is a very solid driver and has some great patina

I have lots of plans for this car but I drive it all the time and enjoy it just the way it is.

I have done a lot to her, including restoring a lot of trim pieces, completely rebuilt suspension with a 4" drop in the rear and 6" in the front.

Aluminum Radiator, Edelbrock 650 carb.

I have learned a bunch about these cars and hope to learn even more through this forum and share any information I have with others. My passion for these cars runs deep

Welcome. For some reason your first attempt at posting was flagged as "moderated". I just approved it, but now you have two identical posts. Car looks cool.

Nice '53

Welcome to C.O. from another '50's owner. Sorry to say that I parted with mine about 3 years ago but still love to see other owners that love and appreciate Oldsmobile's . They still let me hang around on the site when I get the chance.
You will meet many very knowledgeable folks on the 50's models if you visit the Vintage Olds section where most of the 50's owners hang out. Good luck ,and enjoy her ,they are wonderful cars..Lary (Rocketowner)
