New owner of a 1954 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 convertible!

hey all!
My name Is Bryan and I am the proud new owner of a 1954 star fire 98 convertible. This is my first Oldsmobile and I am very excited to be joining the community. I have been after this car for quite a few months but there was one major problem- I was in Connecticut and the car was all the way in Southern California. after going back and forth with the owner for quite some time, I finally bit the bullet, hopped on a plane on Tuesday night, and by Wednesday morning I owned the car. she's on her way back to CT at this moment and I can't wait to start freshening her up over the winter. I'm glad to be hear and can't wait to bother you all with questions LOL.

new owner of a 1954 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 convertible!

Hi all!
I have been a member here for a few months, but I am the brand new owner of a 1954 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 convertible! I have been communicating with the owner of the car since this summer, but there was one minor inconvenience... The car was in Southern California and I was in Connecticut. I realized last week I was never going to forgive myself if I didn't go see the car, so a few days ago I hopped on a plane to LA, had a friend take me to see the car, and left as the new owner! she's on her way back to CT now and I couldn't be more excited!!!! This is my first Oldsmobile and I will surely have many questions moving forward so please bear with me. LOL

-Bryan

I’m not really sure about the spotlights to be honest. I’m assuming they weren’t a factory option of any sort but perhaps maybe a dealer installed option. Or could hahe just been added at some point in its life. I think they’re pretty cool looking I’ll probably keep them on

Congratulations on a beautiful car, yes you would have been kicking yourself if you passed on this.
From what I've seen and heard the factory spot lights also had a rear view mirror on the back.
Either way the car looks great and hopefully it fits under the tree.

Congrats, sweet ride. A lot of people who live/d in rural America would install the on vehicles so they can inspect their property or look for livestock at night.

What a sweet car!! Looks to be in fantastic shape. Nice to see a "young un" interested in a mid 50s car. Enjoy it!

Bryan, welcome to ClassicOldsmobile. You have a beautiful car.

When I was in elementary school, a teacher had one--very rusty. However, I recognized it as a special car and have always thought of it as an icon of the times along with the 1953 Buick Skylark.

Welcome aboard, seldom do we see 50's convertibles on this site or any other for that matter. It's good to see one being loved, used and enjoyed. Let us know if we can be of help. Many sharp people are waiting around eager to give assistance .... Lost in the fifties..... Tedd
