Talking 66 442

Hi I just acquired my 1966 Autumn Bronze with Black Vinyl Top, parchment interior, 4 speed, L-69, all original drive train with 82,000 original miles 442. I had been looking for one for a long time. I bought a 1966 F-85, Autumn Bronze, Black Vinyl Top, 4 speed, black interior, with a bench seat, NEW, in 1966 at age 16. I traded it off in 1970 with 85,000 miles on it for $800.00 (for....wait for it...) a new Volkswagen! Marriage and youth will make you do that. As you can imagine I drove that F-85 like a crazy man. Friends and neighbors remind me now that I could never hit second gear without chirping the tires. The only thing that ever broke was the clutch at 80,000 miles. Anyway, I couldn't be prouder to have an Olds back in my life. And an L-69 to boot. We just had it in our little towns annual Rendevous Parade with my Wife, Grandson, his wife and my year old Great-Grandson in the car with me. No more chirping the tires.....well....maybe a little. I will be taking photos soon and will post them on the forum.

Here are some pictures of my Olds. The one respray it has had has too much red in it to be Autumn Bronze. My wife wants us to repaint it but I just can't get up for that right now. We have two other projects in the wings waiting at the present. Besides it's not a BAD job. We will just enjoy it as it is for the present.

Very nice car. It does look very red. Like Target Red. I have see a couple Autumn Bronze cars repainted Red. All in the taste. Still a very nice car enjoy it.
