Miles

This may be dumb question, and I think already know the answer. But is there anyway to tell if odometer had rolled over. Previous owner assume it did. But olds only been on road driving for 6 years, and from what I heard is car wasn't really long distance driver. It hasn't been on road and driving since 72.

Not really. It's also EXTREMELY easy to reset an odometer of that vintage to whatever mileage you ant. The most reliable gauge is to carefully look at other telltale signs. For example, are the pedal pads badly worn (or brand new repros) or are they barely worn originals? Are the suspension and steering parts originals in good shape, badly worn, or recently replaced? Those are the details that will give you a much better feel of the actual mileage.

No way to truly tell, but there may be some tell-tale signs. Look for wear on the pedals, perhaps the level of rust that exists, wear-and-tear on the interior (especially the driver seat), level or oily dirty build-up in the engine compartment, and so forth.

Thanks, pedal pad are worn, but not badly. Supension is good yet and original. What's consider good miles? Car made in 66 and last registrated , and last drove was 1972. Been parked and hasn't seen the road in 46 years

Anything is possible: my '64 D88 was showing 30k on the odometer when I got it and the previous owner produced documentation it sat in a transportation museum somewhere in OH for the better part of 20 years. Pedal wear and suspension are always go-to items when the OD is in doubt.

The '64 98 had an astonishing 22k on it when I bought it from a funeral home in 1996. The interior smelled like Acqua Net from a blue hair and it was still wearing the bias ply Firestones when purchased new in Elizabethtown, NC

Nice the od on my Jetstar 88, says 23,000. And only on road driving for 6 years before it was parked. Which I don't think is to bad. Pedal are worn, but not ecessive and are orginal. Suspension is good. Also for being ND car, not much rust. If it wasn't parked in 72 rust be whole lot worse.

22k over 6 years drivership is probably reasonable. Remember, no interstates in ND in 1966, so any trips would have been on two-lane roads. Perhaps the car made a trip to Expo '67 in Montreal or the HemisFair in 1968 (San Antonio, TX). Or perhaps it never left Wahpeton, other than ride to Breckenridge so the owners could cruise Minnesota Avenue.
