New guy with 65 Cutlass

Hey, what's up. Greetings from the Great White North.
I am the proud owner of a 65 F85 Cutlass, 2 door Holiday Coupe, Canadian built. It's pretty much a survivor, all stock. 65k miles. Very basic car, manual drums all around, manual steering, Jetaway. 330 engine. Mojave mist color. In decent shape, driveable, made a few trips this past summer. I am new to Oldsmobiles, not new to the old car hobby, though.
It has a radiator with a small leak and will post a question about a suitable replacement in the General Discussions sections.
Nice to meet you all!

Welcome

Hi Bassinguy here with a very similar car. My is a 65 Cutlass post car with power drum brakes and manual steering 4 speed. I installed power steering on it so my wife would be able to drive the car a lot easier. Fun car to drive and not many on car show scene which I like, Good Luck with your ride, Bassinguy

Nice car! Don't replace the radiator. Have the original Harrison repaired.

Thanks Stan. I'm in the Lower Mainland. May be impractical to ship a rad to the island to get fixed, but may get get back to you on that. I won't junk it, just looking to replace it with a non-leaking unit that potentially has margin to cool a larger engine in the future... We'll see.

Interesting. I actually bought it in April this year from the guy who bought it in Ladner. He only had it for a few months and decided to sell.

If you go alumn. get the Chevy truck radiator on EBAY it fits. The 3 core will work but see if yours can be fixed first.

If you don't want to chase leaks around in an old radiator, they can be "re-cored". I found that out when I took a '64 Olds Starfire radiator for repair. Yes, its expensive, but its like a new radiator. Just a thought.........
