New to Forum - Old to Olds

Hello all!
My name is Dick and I recently started working on my father's 70 cutlass convertible.
I am always searching the web with questions and often ending up on this forum.
Figured I better join!
Very nice to be here and meet everyone.
I am a newbie when it comes to most things so patience is appreciated in advance.
I am restoring the car now and look forward to reading, researching, and sharing.
Thanks for looking!
Dick

Welcome. Post some pics when you have a chance. An Assembly Manual & a Chassis Service manual will be a big help to you.

Welcome to the site, post some pics of your dads Olds. Is this something that was passed down to you or are you doing this for your dad?

Hello!
I am happy to post some pictures soon.
I guess I need to find a post on how to post pics, haha.
I am taking many pics throughout the restoration.
This car has a quite a history, and I know it well. I'll spare you for now.
As I was disassembling the car, looking up the cowl tag, and finding paperwork, I am so glad that I know the history of this car to go with the memories.
I love old cars and I am fascinated by the owners who kept them running and driving well past their prime. (Something rarely seen today with so many seemingly disposable new cars.)
This was one of his regular drivers (with his pickup and another car) until at least 2000.
I assumed it was ready for use in the event the "Y2K bug" rendered our computer-controlled cars of the time useless.
Since then it slowly deteriorated further and had not been roadworthy in well over a decade.
I gave me the car two years back but it will always be Dad's car.
I am restoring it now and planning to pick him up this spring. I am also planning on making a few changes, and I am sure he'd be ok with that.
I have a lot of tough decisions to make as I am assembling the car and purchasing parts.
And this site is so helpful and informative!
