Lightbulb Hi from Texas

Hey everyone, I joined because I'm in the middle of my first engine build and could use some advice from time to time. I noticed a while ago that a lot of people seem to think every car needs a Chevy 350, whether the car is an Olds, Pontiac, Buick, etc. which is kinda sad to me and takes away some of the car's unique character. To each their own, but I decided to turn that trope on its head and stick an Olds 350 in a Chevy car - my dream car, a 1985 Monte Carlo SS. I look forward to talking and sharing with all of you.

Welcome. All you need are the frame mounts from a 1978-88 A/G body with Olds motor (260, 307, 350) and the matching 2328 motor mounts. Of course, you'll need a trans with a BOP bellhousing, but that Monte should have a unisex 200-4R already.

Welcome. I might be a little bias, but I believe Olds motors of yester year ran better and last longer than Chevy. I remember changing cams, lifters and timing chains on 327's & 350's at about the 98,000 mark but never found a necessity on an Olds motor other than "I went this far, why not." You will find everyone very helpful and supportive on this site.

Welcome to the group... Good luck with your Olds engine project, that's sure to make that Chevy run...
