Welcome to Classic Olds.Fabulous looking '70. You must have been reading the newbie section before and knew that the first demand of everyone was pictures, so you got it right the first time. Congratulations on picking the best site anywhere. Larry

Ha ha thanks Larry. Been down the forum road before... I just sold my '69 Corvair and was a member of a few forums for that, plus I'm on one for my Durango. These are great; there's always useful info and good folks. I even contribute once in a while!

I like the color combo on your car. I just sold my '69 Corvair that was that color blue with a white convertible top. Always a head turner.
Im in Brightwaters, near Bay Shore. I usually hit the local shows over the summer; the Corvair wasnt good for long distances but the Cutlass is a go anywhere car, and Im looking forward to longer rides. I hear the one in Sea Cliff is really good.

Greetings. Pretty convertible! I seem to own its twin. I NEVER thought that baby blue was an original factory color. Wow. Changes everything for me.
My question:
My baby blue convertible has white interior, black dash, bench seat, white convertible top. Its a 70 CS convertible.
Could these colors all be original?
Truth be told I was going to go triple black with stick and OAI hood with red w30 stripes. Been collecting parts for a fully W30 tribute car with a 455. See attached pic. (not my car)
What are your thoughts on this guys? Am I ruining the car if I do this? What would you do? It needs new interior, paint, top as it sits. Engine could use freshening too, but its a clean Montana convertible car. Found it on a local used car lot for $3000.

I hadnt seen this color either, but it is in fact factory: Azure Blue, and the top is called Viking Blue, I believe. I personally like the white top/white interior, but the dark blue top is growing on me and getting a lot of positive feedback. I dont know if the azure blue/white top was a factory option - I havent seen many while scrolling the internet.
I kept my last classic car all stock; I was thinking of having some fun with the paint scheme on this one, but as I just got it I'm not making any decisions just yet. I say its your car you should do what you like with/to it, unless you're keeping it for an investment. But even then, it seems that resto-mods are gaining in price too, as well as they are done tastefully.

New shop for the Olds too.
If it was a rare or special car I would say keep it original. Since its your car and not a rare model, I say build it like you want it, your color and drivetrain.
Truth is a black or red car wil sell quicker than a baby blue or white car all other things being equal..

Yes my brother and I usually go every week. I have the Green 67 427 corvette and he has the red 66 W30. We will have to meet up.

My car originally had a blue top and medium blue bench seat interior. If it did have white interior originally a white top is very likely. Also the white interior did come with black dash and carpet and white seats and door panels.
