I'm new here.

Hi, I'm Curt. I live in the Boston area and am restoring a '79 Trans Am with an Olds 455 - my first resto. The engine's about half done. Just waiting for the heads to come back from the machine shop. It's pretty stock with a mild cam upgrade. Hopefully the entire project won't take more than another year and a half.

Welcome to the site Curt. They always take a little time, and some times more than we planned. I also have a 79 TA, and would look forward to your progress.

79 trans am

Had a 79 and a 78. They are coming into collector preference now so it will be a justified build. Personally I loved mine and drove it like I stole it many times. They cost much more now than when I bought mine.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll try to get some pics up soon. Gary's right about the TA's. Someone recently told me they're going up about 5% per year. Mine's an SE (Y84), so it's got some pretty good value. With the exception of a few things, I'm doing it all myself - learning as I go and loving it.
