new car
hi everyone, thanks for hosting this wonderful forum. I am the proud new owner of a 1972 olds. I am not sure of the exact nomenclature of the model I have. the vin is 3g87k2z106857 and I will attach a picture of the data plate. It is a two owner car with really nice interior, I will get some pictures as soon as I have them. I look forward to restoring it with everyones insight!

VIN breakdown
Oldsmobile Cutlass S hardtop coupe 350 4bbl. Freemont California built.
Running short on time or else I would decode your cowl tag. I am sure that a few others will decode it for you, if not later this evening.
Welcome to C.O.

thanks everyone, really encouraged by the find. it has all of the 442 badging, but has a 350-4bb. the p.o. put dual exhaust and a new(er) 350 trans in it. since I cant pick the car up until this weekend i'll post a couple pics of my other project....it has 28,000 miles on it! slightly smaller engine without about half the horsepower. but, it could give a mountain goat a run for its money.
The codes that are decodable from your cowl tag:
36 = Cutlass S
87 = 2-door hardtop
Z = Fremont, California plant
11B = 2nd week of November assembly date
43, 43 = lower and upper body colors, both Pinehurst Green
TR 942 = green vinyl seat
A52 = front bench seat

thats great, thanks! i was curious, my car has 442 badging on the grille, glove box, and truNck...and i think on the fenders. is there any way to ensure that was stock? I can take some pics this weekend, but i dont see anything on the data plate that would designate the -442- moulding/trim.
thanks!!
thanks!!
