I'm glad to be a part of this forum. Wanted to intro myself and my ride. I've been wrenching on this car since I was a small child. It is my father's first new car and now sits in my garage! It is a one-owner, '76 Cutlass Supreme. So far, I have changed the rear gear out for a new 3:08 Posi. I am currently building the 350 Olds motor with a donor set of 7A (little A) heads, 30-over bore, 218/224 cam, and a set of flat top forged pistons. The engine has been completely re-balanced and the heads have been completely gone through with all new valve guides and seals. The build is going well so far and is now in re-assembly stage. I'm going to try and clean up the engine bay, removing quite a lot of the smog and wiring. It's an AC car; still trying to decide whether to stay that way or not! I'm also dancing around the idea of going with electric fans. I've also made my first post looking for input on headers for this model. Looking forward to great input from all!

I tried headers on my car in the late 90s when I overhauled the 350... These were full headers, they hang quite low... Use the copper style gaskets and re torque regularly to avoid leaks. can't recall the brand... Have them in my garage since I pulled the engine and went with a 455. Had a few flat spots that happened when I went over a parking lot hump... hence the hanging low...
I would consider a set of Thorton reproduced manifolds, I believe they are the better flowing manifolds for the 350.. Google Thornton mfg.

I went with an Edlebrock 650 with electric choke on the old 350 as well, good carb. I would 86 that smogger intake and smog equipment if you do not have to have the car yearly inspected..

I see 442fanatic mentioned he used copper header gaskets. I have also had very good luck with my Remfex Graphite gaskets couldn't get a torque wrench on them but they tightened down well by hand and then a re tighten after a good heat cycle.
I would have really liked the long tube , but I was told they will hang low and interfere with my linkages. Only going on what I was told at the time of purchase.
You have some great pics in your album, looks like your new engine will give you alot more enjoyment with our heavy cars. These 76's/77's make a great cruiser car.
