w-30 cam

I am finishing the restoration on my '70 442. Will get pics up when I figure out which way is up. Got the car last summer and it hasn't been on the road since the mid 80's. Frame off restoration. It has the originall 455 built to original specs except it has the w-30 cam (stock E heads, stock manifolds, intake, exhaust etc etc). Now that it's running I have a question about the vacuum advance. When I time it (12 deg btdc 5500 ft elevation) and use the ported vacuum on the q-jet the timing gets badly retarded on acceleration (it's an automatic btw) so I put the vac advance right to manifold vacuum and it's far more responsive. Does my stock points distributor have the correct advance mechanism and vacuum adv for this much cam duration? Is the w-30 supposed to have a vacuum resivoir? or is my q-jet screwy?
