VIN Help Needed
I am wondering if somebody could decipher this for me I am looking at a car that Im being told is a 1970 Cutlass SX, The VIN is as follows
12570Z102148
there is a block # 396021 F with an E also stamped on the block near the power steering pump, it does not have buckets or a console shifter any help would be appreciated .

that's not the VIN, but even so, the VIN wouldn't specify an SX I don't believe.
The VIN would tell you 442, Cutlass Supreme, etc. The SX would have a Supreme VIN sequence which others here could relate
Since I think you could get a non SX with a 455, having the block stamp match the VIN sequence wouldn't prove it's an SX.
I think you'd need paperwork to prove it, or take an educated guess base on condition and options and hope later if you were to resell it you could convince buyer it is an SX.

You're going to confuse things if you make posts in 2 different places with different info in each post!
According to the pic in your other post, the VIN is:
342570Z........
Cutlass Supreme Hardtop Coupe, Fremont Calif plant.
The VIN will tell you nothing more.
