Uncles 425

Hello all I am obviously new as well. I grew up in the backseat of a 71 supreme. Only car I ever actually WANTED. My old man & uncle used to build and race the Cutty. I recently inherited my uncles built 425 and I don't know where to start.

The weird looking brackets in pic #3 are ladder bars, uncle said he had to put them on cuz every time he took off the front wheels would come off the ground. Twisted a few frames and had to add a steel crank. I might be wrong about some stuff so don't yell at me lol

FYI, ladder bars would improve traction, which would lead to more likelihood of the front wheels lifting. Also, all 425 engines came from the factory with steel cranks.

Looks like a lot of engine parts that need to be checked to see if they're OK to go back together or need to be replaced. Any idea why the engine was disassembled in the first place?

Idk like i said, im probably misquoting him. He said he had to put them on because the front kept lifting. Also you are correct about the crank,it was a main reason people were after the engine. Nott that he put it in. He disassembled it for storage purposes. Pics are a little poor but its the entire setup and everything is in good working condition. Its all clean just been sitting for about 15yrs.

Doesn't remember what it originally came out of. Him and a friend found it at a junkyard. $25 for the engine & $25 to remove it and put it in the truck.
