Texas Newbie Here: 56 Olds

Hello Everyone,

I've had her for a little while now. I'm in Houston Texas.

Got the Olds a couple of years ago from my grandpa before he died...we worked on the car alot.

I'm sure I'll be asking tons of questions! Still working on getting it registered in TX and brought over to my garage from the parents house.

I'll get some more pictures up later when I get the chance.

My grandpa bought it about 15 years ago restored. Since then we would take it to car shows, caravans, etc...all over. I would spend my summers with him, so I've had a connection to that car for awhile.

He passed away in 2010 and we had it shipped down to Texas in 2011. Since then it's been sitting in storage and I would take it out when I could (one a month, maybe). It was a little neglected due to being out of state for school getting married, etc. There are poor excuses, but I'm going to man up and do what should've been done awhile ago.

Anyway, my only current plans for it are to do some sort of disc brake conversion...those drums make me a little nervous sometimes and a whining noise that is relatively new.

Looks like we're got some nice 50s in here, I like it!

Very, very nice Oldsmobile! Lots'a Olds folks down you way, and all over. Your Grandad did some very nice, subtle changes. Really nice!

Welcome from another 56 owner. Now I know what my car would look like with fender skirts. I hope my 10 year old grandson continues to take interest. I would love for him to have it later.
