Howdy! I always wanted to get my 1970 Cutlass back. Mission Impossible. For sure.
I had an Oldsmobile orange w/ pinstripes and rally wheels. Automatic transmission,
bench seat and could outrun damned near anything.
Insurance rates went to 1000 a year for anyone under 25 so I traded with Mom. One day I'm driving
a 1970, orange Cutlass that was a screaming machine and the next day I'm driving
a 1964 belair station wagon. It ain't funny.
I just turned 71 so I guess those insurance rates don't apply anymore?
Thanks for letting me in. I'll just sit in the corner and listen to some pros. And wish.

I remember those days too. I lived in Karnes County (between San Antonio and Corpus) and ordered a 1970 Corvette. We'd all heard the horror stories about insurance rates. I asked my insurance agent what my rate would be.

Him, "$150."
Me, "A MONTH?"
Him, "No, a year."

It was good to live in a rural area back then.
