Semi new guy here!!

Heyy all

I joined this site a few years ago but didn't post much, and never introduced myself or posted pics of my car Figured I'd change that now. My name is Dan and I'm 36 years young. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and am currently impatiently waiting for spring haha!! I've owned my Olds for 15 years.....having bought it at spring Jefferson (local car show) in April of '99. It had 90k on it then and since then it's hardly sat still in the summer months.......my baby has almost 175k on her now It's been a great ride and has never left me stranded! I've been a full time mechanic for 18 years meaning I've done all work on the car myself.......well everything but bodywork Now for some pics......they are all a few years old......but nothing has changed on the car anyway. I'd love to take some better pics but she's in storage right now ): Here's the pics.......sorry if there huge

Welcome back

Nice car for that many miles. I would never guess by looking it would have that many on it. P.S. large pics are best.

Thanks Gary. I bought it from the grandson of the original owner.....it was grandma's car When I bought it only 1 high beam worked cause it probably hadn't been driven at night in 20 years lol

Thanks Eddie! And hmmmm well I want to restore it someday.......the frame has been fixed twice due to rust........and the body has it's share of rust but it hides it pretty well I also have a 455 on a stand in the garage that's gonna be under the hood at some point........but I've had it for more than 10 years so yeah haha. Mainly just driving it and going to shows. First thing I'm doing in spring (if it ever comes) is to put in my new front springs

Welcome from another Milwaukee Olds owner! I am trying to figure out where in Milw you are located from the pics. I am on the west side; as far west as one can get and not be in 'Tosa.

Looks like we both will be waiting quite a while for the weather to break!

You do now that the WI Chapter of the OCA is pretty active. You might want to look into it is not already a memeber.

Welcome! Your one of the few members that is younger than their car. Oldsmobiles need some fresh blood. Ken

Glad you came out of the closet Dan! Welcome and what a great honest car. Reminds me of one I almost purchased in my youth. What I really like about your post is how much you drive and enjoy your car. It looks like you average 6500.00 mi a year. That is my plan for my car when it is done.......Hit the Road Jack

we indeed are close to one another. The surroundings in your pic did have the Mt. Mary neighborhood look to them.

I did see/hear geese winging their way north yesterday so, just maybe ... ?

Haha the funny part is I haven't done THAT much to it........she's been quite trouble free And the black thingy is a XM radio antenna, which isn't on the car anymore since I put a modern radio in the glovebox so I can plug in my smartphone!!

Thought I'd bring this back cause I've got some big (for me haha) plans for this summer. First I'm taking care of it tendency to run hot in traffic with a FlowKooler wp and AC pulley swap. Those parts are all on the way now. Gonna try it without the shroud first cause I really don't want to run one. Second I have a rear bumper with the cutouts that I've had since 2000 and IT'S GOING ON THIS YEAR!!! I'm the go to guy around here for custom exhaust bending so that'll be the easy part haha!! I've found enough about rear bumper swaps I didn't think it need it's own thread. And third I've gotta drop the gas tank cause I need to yank on the sender wire from time to time to keep the gas gauge working. Have a new sender wire and am prepared to solder it on if necessary. I'm also gonna try and get more pics of the car too.......like of the interior perhaps haha!
